Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. Jason was very personable, helpful and knowledgeable. The small class size was a HUGE plus for me. I enjoyed the course, and intend to return for follow-up classes.

Jason was prepared, knowledgeable, and patient with all us newbies. He answered everyone's questions, and made sure to spend time with each person individually. He even let us tryout some of his own equipment. Class size was small, so we all got personal attention. My daughter and I both feel confident in handling the new camera now. Thanks Jason!

I'm a Texas-based photographer and photography instructor who enjoys helping people truly understand how their camera works and how to see light more intentionally. My teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals 2014exposure, composition, and practical shooting techniques 2014in a way that's clear, hands-on, and easy to apply in real situations. I believe photography becomes much more enjoyable once the technical side feels less intimidating and more intuitive.

In my workshops, I create a relaxed, supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, experiment, and learn at their own pace. I combine technical instruction with creative guidance, offering real-time feedback that helps students grow confidence behind the camera. My goal is for every participant to leave not only with stronger skills, but also with a clearer creative direction and excitement to keep shooting.

Available most Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 6pm. Private tutoring, photography for beginners, architecture, and landscape.

Title or Location: Behind the Spanish Governor's Palace in San Antonio
I started this day doing "spooky" photography, at a cemetery and later at the Spanish Governor's Palace. I ended up taking a walk and found myself behind the Governor's Palace and found this spot under a fantastic shade tree. I wasn't intending to do any street photography, but did a few "just because" shots, which ended up being my favorite for the day! Taken with Nikon D7500, Tokina 16-50mm f/2.8 lens, ISO 640, F/11, 1/640 sec, cropped and lightly edited in Lightroom.

Title or Location: "Silhouette Over the Sea" taken in South Padre Island Texas
I took this image when my son and I got up early to shoot the sunrise behind our hotel during Easter weekend in South Padre Island, Texas. I was really just messing around, trying to see if I could catch a seagull lined up right under the sun or even crossing over it, and this ended up being my best shot. What?s funny is how sometimes the images I don?t think are all that special end up connecting with people more than the ones I personally love. It?s always pretty amazing to see that happen.

Title or Location: Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Death Valley National Park
I arrived at the sand dunes around 4:30am to get some milky way shots. However, my favorite pictures of my Death Valley trip came from the sand dunes just after the sun peaked above the horizon. I saw a huge sand dune in the distance and headed for it. Each peak and valley of the many dunes had a different angle and perspective of this beautiful landscape.

    Title or Location: Bandera Texas
This ground to sky upward lightning was captured on May 1, 2025 near Bandera Texas using a full frame digital Nikon with a 28mm lens. I had the ISO set to 200 and the aperture at F/9 focused to infinity. It is a 30 second exposure. This was a very lucky shot as I had just moved the camera to view this portion of the sky moments before it happened. Although it looks like the lightning is coming from the ground, it's actually emerging from a tall radio tower about 6 miles out. The image is

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
